Pink Dolphin Award Ceremony
Date: 19/03/2026

The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (HKCC) was invited to attend the “Pink Dolphin Award Ceremony” hosted by the Pink Dolphin Fund at Dorsett Kai Tak on 19 March. On the night of the ceremony, Mr Lai Kin-ming, Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, was also present.
Members from HKCC Intermediate 3A, opened the ceremony with A New Day under the baton of conductor Kelvin Lau and accompanied by Kenneth Lau. Music and lyrics by Alex Tam, A New Day conveys the belief that setbacks are inevitable on the journey of life; only by cherishing, being grateful and moving forward bravely can we make every experience meaningful and enjoy every precious moment in life. The piece was specially rearranged with an added violin accompaniment, making the melody more appealing and embodying the beautiful hope for the improvement of the living environment of Chinese white dolphins.
Subsequently, HKCC’s Junior Dance Team member, Chiu Man-ching, and HKCC Dance Coordinator, Chloe Lee, presented a dance performance that portrayed the story of a girl befriending dolphins, featuring elegant dance moves. Shortly after, members of Intermediate 3A put on pink outfits to echo the ceremony’s theme and performed the specially adapted Nature Stroll Journey (Sea Chapter) for this event. Composed by Kelvin Lau and with lyrics by Neal Fan, the piece is inspired by bay scenery and marine ecology. Its light-hearted, flowing melody undulates like ocean waves, combined with sound elements that imitate dolphin resonance, vividly restoring the vitality of the ocean.
HKCC hopes to convey the message of “cherishing nature and protecting bays” through singing, and to guard the endangered Chinese white dolphins.
