May Fourth Flag Raising Ceremony 2026

The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (HKCC) was invited to attend the flag raising ceremony on 4 May to mark the 107th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement and the 90th anniversary of the Red Army’s Long March victory. Hosted by the Committee of Youth Activities in Hong Kong and co-organised by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education of the HKSAR Government, this year marks the 20th edition of the May Fourth Flag Raising Ceremony.
Over 1,200 participants from youth uniformed groups, primary and secondary schools took part in the ceremony. Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Sun Shangwu, Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR Li Yongsheng, were among those who attended the event at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai. HKCC Senior A members joined all attendees in singing the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China.
