HKGNA Music Festival 2025

Date: 11/11/2025

  • The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to perform at the HKGNA Music Festival 2025, held at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheatre, HKAPA on November 11. This eagerly awaited event themed "Empower Our Youth, Enrich Our Community!", brought together esteemed classical virtuosos and Hong Kong's emerging young talents on one stage, celebrating Hong Kong's dynamic musical spirit.

Led by Conductor Vivian Ip and Accompanist Alexander Wong, members of HKCC Chamber Youth took the stage right after the intermission, delivering two performances of distinct styles. They first presented a choreographed performance of “Blue Skies”, a bright and upbeat melody that embodies optimism, with lyrics depicting clear “blue skies” and bluebirds, symbolizing longing for happiness and hope. Following this, members performed “City on Fire”, from the musical “A Tale of Southern Sky”, which powerfully conveys a message of perseverance and calls for unity and collective strength. The highlight of the concert was the unforgettable joint performance with Grammy Award-winning soprano Sumi Jo, presenting a classic medley from the musical “The Sound of Music”. The vibrant and heartfelt interpretation vividly restored the joy, hope, and perseverance of the musical’s characters, allowing the audience to relive the timeless charm of this Broadway classic hit. The entire performance was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
