2025 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong
Date: 16/07/2025

The “2025 World Choir Festival – Hong Kong,” organized by the World Youth & Children Choral Artists’ Association, took place from 14 to 18 July at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall and the Tsuen Wan Town Hall Auditorium. With the theme “Voices United · Dreams Passed On,” the festival welcomed over 40 international adjudicators and drew more than 4,000 choristers from 19 countries and regions, making it a global celebration of choral artistry.
The Hong Kong Children’s Choir (HKCC) was invited to perform at two major concerts during the festival. On 16 July, at the “Singing and Giving in the Harmony of Dreams Tribute Concert to Prof Leon Tong’s 55th Anniversary,” led by our Music Director and Principal Conductor Kathy Fok and accompanist Corina Lin, HKCC Concert Choir performed Drops in the Yellow River and joined 11 choirs from around the world in a massed performance of In One Accord under the baton of Prof Tong. The following evening on 17 July, HKCC returned as a special guest at the “Final Round & Closing Ceremony”, presenting two original works by our Composer-in-Residence, Dr Steve Ho: Good Morning Hong Kong and Kung Fu. Rich in local flavour, these pieces offered a musical tribute to Hong Kong’s unique culture, warmly shared with visiting choirs from across the globe.
