2025 Hong Kong Hymnos Festival 5th Anniversary Concert : Music for the Soul

During the 2025 Hong Kong Hymnos Festival, the Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to take the stage at the 5th Anniversary Concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 27 October, delivering wonderful performances. Led by Conductor Wong Kwok-yan and accompanist Burnett Yuen. Members from Junior 2A, Intermediate 1B & 2I jointly performed “Jubilate Deo” by Ken Steven, “God’s Will” by Alex Tam and “Thank You God” by Steve Ho. In the second half, HKCC members also collaborated with the Vietnam Suc Song Moi Bamboo Ensemble (SSM), which is the only bamboo ensemble in Vietnam that performs symphonic orchestration using pure bamboo instruments, aims to bring traditional and academic music closer to the younger generation with a unique and original style. HKCC and SSM members jointly performed the Vietnam Folk Song “Gà Gáy Le Te”(The Rooster), creating a cross-cultural musical exchange. Towards the end of the concert, HKCC member Ashira Yuen presented a solo performance of Gabriel Fauré’s “Pie Jesu”, showcasing a touching vocal style.
This year’s Hymnos Festival brought together many outstanding performers, including Prof. Chan Wing-wah, Anthony Cheng, Colleen Lee, Andrew Leung, Hanoi Voices Choir, Hong Kong Hymnos Festival Choir, Saint Francis University Choir, jointly creating a beautiful chapter of hymns.
