2023 Hong Kong Hymnos Festival: Opening Concert
Date: 20/11/2023

Surrounding the theme of "Music for Light", the 2023 Hong Kong Hymnos Festival was held between 20 November and 2 December. The Hong Kong Children's Choir (HKCC) was invited to perform in the Opening Concert at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 20 November.
The Concert Choir, led by conductor Vivian Suen and accompanist Lin Ching, commenced the concert with the processional piece So Fair and Bright, followed by Sanctus and Can You Hear Me?, a song that depicts the wonder of the world seen through the eyes of a deaf child. The full line-up for the Opening Concert included singer Crisel Consunji, Rev. Ray Kelly and music groups such as Festival Choir, Hong Kong University Alumni Association Choir, Chummy Choir, The Greeners' Sound and music band FreeUp Music.
Father Ray Kelly, hailed as Ireland's "Singing Father", also teamed up with Concert Choir to sing The Lord's Prayer during the concert to kickstart this year's Hymnos Festival.
